A conference for financial directors was held on September 20, 2024 in St. Petersburg, organized by the Committee on Taxes and Financial Reporting of the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce.
Quality Partners was pleased to be among the sponsors of the event, which addressed some of the most pressing issues in tax, currency, and customs legislation. The event was attended by business experts and representatives from the Federal Tax Service, and provided an opportunity for participants to discuss issues related to their operational activities and budget planning for the upcoming year. The conference focused on topics such as the complexity of cross-border transactions, changes in the taxation of small and medium-sized businesses and companies operating under special tax regimes. Additionally, there was a panel discussion on recent developments in judicial practice regarding the inclusion of dividends and royalties in the customs value of goods. The conference also hosted a panel discussion on innovations in the tax regulation of transfer pricing and ways to mitigate the negative effects of sanctions. The discussions at the event provided valuable insights into current trends and best practices in this area.
Quality Partners highlighted the topic of advertising expenses: the problems associated with the loss of relevance of the provisions of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation regulating the accounting of advertising expenses for profit taxation purposes. A discussion was held regarding the need to establish a working group on advertising costs to develop proposals for amending the Tax Code and to consider the possibility of modifying the accounting procedures for advertising expenses.
We extend our gratitude to AHK for providing a platform for sharing perspectives, the opportunity to engage in discussions on pressing business issues, and to establish business connections between member companies.
