Forum in St. Petersburg: “Baltic Region – China 2019”.
On 17 September, the Managing Director of quality partners and chairman of the Association of European Businesses (AEB) in the Northwest, Andreas Bitzi, took part in the plenary session of the Conference “Baltic Region – China 2019”, organized by the administration of the Leningrad Region.
Andreas told the audience of some 250 people, among them business delegations from China and Germany, about how AEB members see the investment climate in the Leningrad Region, naming some concrete examples of German investors, and pointing at the positive development of the investment climate within the past years. The presentation was based on the annual survey the AEB makes in cooperation with the investment team of Leningrad Region among its members active in the region.
Other speakers during the plenary session were the deputy chairman of the Government of the Leningrad Region, Dmitry Yalov, the Minister of Energy, Infrastructure and Digitalisation of the Federal State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Christian Pegel, the Managing Director of ICBC in St. Petersburg, Xu Yi, the CEO of the German-Russian Economic Council, Hanno Stöcker, the Director of the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce in the Northwest, Vladimir Nikitenko, the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia, Alexis Rodzianko, as well as the CEO and member of the Board of the Belgian-Russian Chamber of Commerce in Russia, Oleg Prozorov.
After the plenary session, there were parallel sessions on export and on localization, as well as time for individual meetings and discussions.
